This office serves as the primary contact and liaison to the 29 Federally Recognized Tribes in Washington State.
There are twenty-nine (29) federally-recognized tribes in Washington State. The tribes are independent sovereign governments with similar status as other states and foreign nations. Through its Tribal Liaison, program managers and administrators, Health and Recovery Services Administration seeks to negotiate government-to-government agreements, and increase tribal participation in HRSA health programs.
This website is intended to promote communication and access to Health and Recovery Services Administration programs, tribal policies, administrative processes, and administration contacts. We hope this resource will assist clients, tribes, tribal organizations, and state administrative and policy staff to further the mission of the Health and Recovery Services Administration.
The
Health and Recovery Services Native Health Program Manager and HRSA
tribal liaisons work with tribes, federal, state, and tribal
organizations to develop and apply Medicaid and state health program
policy consistent with the unique status of tribes and the sovereign
nation status they hold.
